Fly fishing in Banff on the Bow River
during Winter? You Bet!! Around Banff some of the
biggest hawgs of the year are fished up on the Bow River as the fish are schooled in the
deeper runs and holes during the lower winter water conditions, The weather must
cooperate and be on the warmer side which does happen during our frequent winter chinooks.
Sometimes we ice fish in the morning and then
angle the rest of the day away on the Bow in the warm afternoon sunshine, Fly
fishing too! If you are skilled with the clauser minnow fly and a sink-tip line
and or one of my 12 foot+ Spey rods
than say hello to some big trout. Spin fishing is excellent throughout the
winter as well.
We guide fishing adventures along the Bow River year round.
